This brings over three thousand new materials for the amazing Arcade development community to work with, including new hero models for the 4 primary races, all of the original Warcraft III models including neutral creatures and their sounds as well as doodads, structures, spell effects, ambient sounds, music and custom user interfaces for each race. This isn't the first major mod to come out of StarCraft 2 - the fan-made StarCraft MMO StarCraft Universe also came from Blizzard's in-game tool set.We’re excited to announce the models and assets that made Warcraft III an amazing universe to explore are now available in the StarCraft II PTR. WOW RTS: Alliance and Horde is available as a free 245MB download in the StarCraft 2 Arcade or on ModDB. If WAH proves to be a success, he hopes to create maps of the Burning Legion. Author StevenLuo was so invested in the project that he eventually quit his job to dedicate more time to the mod. In each map you can choose to play on either the Horde or Alliance, and within the factions there are 14 buildings with 16 units, 18 heroes, and over 50 different type of creeps. Currently there are three maps, the most notable being Crossroads, which seems to be an exact replica of the actual Crossroads in World of Warcraft. WAH is available for free in the SC2: HoTS Arcade and features a Warcraft RTS experience complete with models, textures, and sounds. The mod, WOW RTS: Alliance and Horde, or WAH for short, is a complete RTS experience according to its author, StevenLuo.
Warcraft 4 may not officially be in the works at Blizzard, but a skilled fan has helped bring his own version of the RTS to life via a StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm mod.
